Qt Creator Technology Preview Released


Qt Software has announced the release of a Technology Preview of Qt® Creator™, a “new, lightweight, cross-platform integrated development environment (IDE) designed to make development with the Qt application framework even faster and easier”.

Qt Software, formerly Trolltech, is now a working unit of Nokia, the mobile device giant. Qt Creator is designed to provide “a focused set of features to boost the productivity of experienced Qt developers, and to help new users get up and running with their Qt projects faster”. It is available for download under a “special Technology Preview license” for Linux 2.6.x (32- and 64-bit), MacOS X (10.4 and later), and Windows (XP and Vista).

The final release of Qt Creator is expected in the first half of 2009, and like Qt, will be available under a commercial and GPL-compatible open source license. You may view a video demo below, and read more about this release here
